SIS understands the mining sector, and the need for both large and small participants to be active and conscious in their environmental responsibility. We standby to assist the sector to do this by offering options to replace many existing steel and timber structures or components with cost effective sustainable materials.
With SIS being head quartered in Australia, we have first hand exposure to some of the globe’s largest mining projects and therefore have gained experience in the need for this sector to continue its already large commitment to sustainability. SIS works with a range of personnel in this vast sector to design, engineer, manufacture and supply alternatives to existing less sustainable product offerings that ultimately benefits stakeholders and the environment. This allows mining sector components to not only tick the environmental box, but be in most cases lighter, stronger and more cost effective when whole of life is considered.
SIS manufactures and supplies a wide range of sustainable products for the mining sector with some examples being:
- Fibreglass Reinforced Plastic (FRP) gantry, gangway and handrail systems, flooring, gully covers, stairs, screens, wash bays, water tanks, safety products, cable protection;
- Recycled plastic pipes, pipe supports, bearers, gluts, bunding, water tanks;
- Recycled Wood Plastic Composite (WPC) dunnage for sea freight packing, WPC decking systems for housing and camps;
- Recycled rubber sheet, hose, conveyor skirt, wear panels and liners, drop mats, buffers and custom products, traffic management and control;
